The un-route

The Adventurists Africa Rally is supposed to be an adventure not a guided tour. It's about getting out into the world and discovering it for yourself, so we resolutely refuse to give you a route. Think how much of a second rate adventure it would be if we all followed the same route, like a traffic jam all the way to the finish. How can you possibly get stuck and lost if you can see someone ahead of you? Ridiculous.

This way you're free to go all over the world to seek out adventure in all its forms. Seek out the most ludicrous route you possibly can if you like. Get out there into the world, get lost, stuck and in trouble.

We can, however, reveal the start and finish locations of the Rally...

Start

The second Africa Rally will kick off from our green and pleasant land, England. Although in December it will be less green and pleasant, more grey and rather chilly. The perfect launchpad for escape to the sun. Details of the exact launch location will be released nearer the time, but it will either be in London, or, erm, not in London.

Finish

After you've whetted your whistles in the African savannnah and taken on a few of the local fauna, some of you might actually make it to the end. As in 2008, the finish will be in Kribi, Cameroon - the perfect palm fringed end to your peregrinations. We'll celebrate with a heady mix of palm wine, rum punch and local music and dance.
